Induction and Enrollment

Enrollment and Induction are undertaken twice a year- In the Spring (typically March or April) and in the Autumn (typically September)

Study and Assignments

Learners start with undertaking the workplace-based exercises and tasks associated with:

Unit 5.02, Organisational and Facilities Management Strategy

This is a 6 credit unit which aims to enable the learners to analyse, implement, review and update the facilities management strategy based on an understanding of its relationship with organisational strategies and effectively communicate the facilities management strategy to a wide audience.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand how organisations develop and review their business strategy
  • Understand approaches to developing facilities management strategies
  • Be able to develop and implement a facilities management strategy
  • Be able to review and identify the need to change the facilities management strategy
  • Be able to communicate the facilities management strategy effectively

Once the submitted work is being marked by the Assessors, learners can proceed with the next study unit:

Unit 5.03, Managing People in Facilities Management

This is a 8 credit unit which will enable learners to review, develop and implement human resource management strategies from recruitment through to exit, in compliance with employment legislation.

Learning Outcomes

  • Be able to undertake and review human resource planning in a facilities management context
  • Be able to review and improve processes for selecting and recruiting appropriate people
  • Be able to use and review appropriate processes to manage staff retention
  • Be able to use and review appropriate processes to manage staff exit
  • Be able to manage and monitor staff performance in a facilities management context
  • Understand the importance of good communication methods within people management
  • Be able to manage stress in the workplace
  • Understand the implications of compliance and non compliance with the key legislation

Once the submitted work is being marked by the Assessors, learners will have achieved the Award.

We will then discuss the possibility of moving on to top-up to the certificate, if so desired.
